The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic possesses significant transit and logistics potential due to its strategic geographical location at the intersection of regional transportation routes connecting the South Caucasus, Türkiye, and Central Asia. Recent geopolitical and economic transformations in Eurasia, particularly the emergence of the Zangezur Corridor and the increasing importance of the Middle Corridor, have strengthened the region’s role in international freight transportation and multimodal logistics systems. This study examines the current state of Nakhchivan’s transport infrastructure, cross-border trade opportunities, and logistics capabilities while evaluating future development perspectives within regional integration processes. The research also analyzes the impact of digital transformation, smart logistics ecosystems, and modern customs technologies on the efficiency of transit operations. Particular attention is devoted to transport diversification, infrastructure modernization, and the enhancement of regional connectivity through railway and highway projects. The article employs comparative analysis, statistical evaluation, and theoretical approaches based on regional economic development concepts. The findings indicate that Nakhchivan has the potential to become an important logistics hub in the South Caucasus by strengthening trade flows, improving transit efficiency, and integrating into international transport corridors. Furthermore, sustainable investments, institutional reforms, and digital logistics solutions are identified as essential factors for long-term competitiveness and economic resilience in the region.
