Idiomatic expressions are an integral yet challenging aspect of language learning, often presenting difficulties due to their figurative nature and cultural specificity. This study explores the internal and external challenges learners face in understanding and using idioms, including issues of semantic opacity, cultural dependencies, and native language interference. It also evaluates the limitations of traditional teaching methods and the need for innovative approaches. Proposed solutions emphasize contextual presentation, visualization techniques, interactive activities, and frequent usage to enhance idiomatic competence. By addressing these challenges through targeted strategies, the research aims to support learners and educators in integrating idioms effectively into language acquisition, fostering linguistic proficiency and cultural understanding.
