This article examines the role of temporal expressions in English discourse and their importance in organizing communication. Temporal expressions are linguistic units that indicate time relations between events, actions, and states. They help speakers and writers structure information, establish chronological order, and clarify the temporal framework of discourse. The study analyzes the definition, types, semantic features, and functional use of temporal expressions in the English language. Special attention is given to their role in creating coherence and logical progression within texts. The analysis shows that temporal expressions appear in different grammatical forms, including adverbs, adjectives, phrases, and clauses, and they are widely used in everyday communication, academic writing, and media discourse. The findings demonstrate that temporal expressions play a significant role in connecting ideas, organizing information, and improving the clarity of communication. The study also highlights their importance in language teaching, as understanding temporal expressions helps learners express time relations more accurately and structure their spoken and written discourse effectively.
