International law in its broad and general sense seeks to establish universal and humanitarian norms for the maintenance and promotion of world peace. For this reason, examining the mechanisms and processes that hinder the establishment of world peace is considered part of the rules for establishing world peace.
By transcending national sovereignty and paying attention to human rights provisions, international law aims to create peace and harmony among people throughout the world, and in this regard, racial, ethnic, national, and religious issues are considered secondary and subsidiary factors.
Thus, solidarity through the rule of law, the prohibition of the use of force, the acceptance of international and humanitarian norms, and the expansion of the role of international organizations and respect for their programs and mechanisms can greatly contribute to the expansion of world peace.
In this regard, the present author attempts to examine the role and position of international law in the promotion of world peace, and also, using a descriptive-analytical method and using documentary and library sources, to consider the obstacles and challenges to world peace.
